Concord Youth Theatre’s Teen Company brings “13: The Musical” to its West Concord stage! In this relatable coming-of-age story which features the music of Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown, 13-year-old Evan Goldman is plucked from New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town, following his parents’ divorce. Entering middle school as the new kid, even accompanied by his new friend and next-door neighbor, is everything you would expect – made worse by classmates who have never been to New York City, never mind a Bar Mitzvah! Can he survive middle school and pull off his big day? Meet the amazing teen characters in this rock/pop musical who explore growing up, fitting in, and what it means to be a friend.
CYT’s Teen Company is made up of young performers, ages 13 – 18, from Concord, Carlisle, Sudbury, Maynard, Lexington and surrounding communities.
Performances are Friday, March 31, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 1, 4 p.m.; Sunday, April 2, 2:30 p.m. at the Concord Youth Theatre, 53 Church St. Tickets are $17, available online at concordyouththeatre.org.
