Chuck Sams was happy to “walk in our fellow Americans’ footprints,” as he went over the Old North Bridge during National Park Week. The National Park Service Director visited the Minute Man National Historical Park on April 24.
Ranger Jarrad Fouss provided a tour to the director, highlighting the battle fought in 1775.
The park received approximately $27 million through the Great American Outdoors Act dispersed between 2022 and 2025. Sams viewed some of the funded projects.
This was the director’s second visit to Concord. He visited in 1989, when he was a young Navy sailor stationed at Virginia Beach.
