The streets surrounding West Concord Village will once again fill with music for the fourth annual West Concord Porchfest from 1-5 p.m. on Sept. 23.
Porchfest is a free, all-ages grassroots community music festival. Porchfests have become a community-building tradition across the country as musicians, story tellers, poets and anyone with a talent performs on porches, driveways and stoops. Acts — including bluegrass, classical, oldies and progressive rock — are already signing up to perform; the full slate will be announced in September.
Created by the West Concord Junction Cultural District Committee, a group of citizen-volunteers dedicated to promoting arts and culture, the West Concord Porchfest is co-sponsored by the Concord Recreation department.
The rain date is Sept. 24.
The event hub will be the parking lot of the Harvey Wheeler Community Center (park in the MBTA commuter lot), where vendors including Nashoba Brook Bakery (sandwiches) and Reasons to Be Cheerful (ice cream) will offer their wares.
