Katherine “Kerry” Cannon Fogler, 72, passed away on June 10, 2023. She was the devoted partner and wife of Robert Douglas Fogler for over 50 years.
Born on June 19, 1951, she is the loving daughter of the late Barbara and Thomas Cannon. Raised in Belmont, MA, she was a graduate of Belmont High School in 1969. She went on to receive her Bachelors of Arts from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs in 1973. After marrying Robert in July of that year, they remained in and around the Boston area to be close to family and start their own.
Kerry devoted much of her life to service from her early days as a candy striper at the local hospital, to volunteering with the Junior League of Boston, the Parent Teacher Group at her children’s schools, helping with sports teams, dance recitals and Scouts, the Scottish Terrier Club of New England and Ladies Dog Club as well as countless other organizations. She was ever present in the community where you could find her substituting in the local schools, running the Young Learners Program at Nashoba Valley or helping residents find their dream homes as a local real estate agent.
After retirement, Kerry and Rob relocated to Colorado to be closer to her son’s family. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2017. Kerry quickly became part of the local Parkinsons support community in any way she could. Unfortunately, Kerry developed an unknown seizure disorder in the spring of 2023 that proved to be too much for her.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kathleen Fogler of Denver, CO, a daughter and son in law, Sarah and Colonel Patrick Little (USSF) of Redondo Beach, CA, a grandson, Liam and 4 granddaughters, Kiera, Noelle, Elizabeth and Clara.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, October 12th at 11 am at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA for a memorial service, followed by interment at St. Bernard’s Cemetery and a reception from 12 to 3 pm at the Colonial Inn, 48 Monument Square, Concord, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in tribute (link on funeral home website).
