Barbara (Adams) McKenna, 88, of Concord, died on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at CareOne of Concord.  She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth D McKenna who died in 2011.

Barbara was born in Somerville on October 12, 1935 to the late Margaret and Joseph Adams.  She was a graduate of Matignon High School, class of 1953.  Subsequently, Barbara received a secretarial degree from The Katharine Gibbs School in 1955.

Always devoted to her family, Barbara was a full-time Mother until her children were off to college.  She then worked for Digital Equipment Corporation.

Barbara was artistically talented.  In her spare time, she enjoyed painting projects and put her sewing skills to use making quilts.  She was one of the original founders of the Concord Piecemakers Quilt in 1980.  However, her greatest talent was in her role as beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, all of whom she was so proud of.

She will be forever missed by her daughter, Pam Murtagh and her husband Tom of Chelmsford, her son, David McKenna of Oregon, her grandchildren, Kade, Maggie, Beau, Scott and Jenny, her great granddaughter, Kennedy.  She was the sister to the late Joseph Adams, Tom Adams and the late Karen Adams, Gail Caccavaro and Claire Morelli.  She leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, as well as longtime neighborhood friends.  She was also the great grandmother of the late Lila.
