Thelma (Anderson) Nelson passed away peacefully in her home on December 9, 2023. She was born on December 7, 1928 in Templeton, MA to John and Hilda Marie Anderson. She was a member of the Templeton High School Class of 1946 and received a degree from Becker Junior College in 1948. Thelma married Allen Nelson in 1957 and the couple moved to Acton a year later where she remained for the last 65 years.
Thelma raised four children and over the past many years managed the business aspects of Cucurbit Farm, her family’s farm. She loved all things “Sweden” and never missed a Swedish Social Club Barbecue.
She is survived by her son Eric (Pam) of Concord, daughter Sonja Pyle of Acton, daughter Heidi Porten of Acton, and son Krist (Wendy) of Deerfield, New Hampshire. In addition, she is survived by her six grandchildren: Ben (Angelica) Pyle, Daniel Pyle, Max Porten, Jaimie Nelson, Jessie Nelson, Hallie Nelson and of course, Axel.
Thelma was predeceased by her husband Allen Nelson and her brothers, Herbert and Marty Anderson.
A private burial will be held on Friday, December 15.
