James W. Bower, 64, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2023.
Jim was born in New Bedford, MA and lived his early years in Glenside, PA until his family moved to Concord in 1966. He graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1977 and then headed to California to study agriculture at the University of California at Davis. While living in California, Jim worked for the California Conservation Corps fighting wildfires.
He returned to Concord after college and worked at the Digital Equipment Corporation. Jim was an avid gardener for most of his life. He loved to grow and can vegetables. He made his own salsa and sauerkraut to share with family and friends. Jim also had the best sense of humor and loved a good joke or story. His robust laughter will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Sally Shaw Bower and his niece, Megan Bower. He leaves behind his brother Robert Bower and his fiancée Laura Plourde of Norwood, his brother Philip Bower and his wife Anne of Littleton, his sister Sarah Reppucci and her husband Paul of Falmouth, his two nieces, Hannah Bower and Rachel Briones, and two nephews, Richard Briones and Tyler Briones.
Services and burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery will be private.
