Winter Seed Sow 

Sunday, January 7 at 1 p.m. at Verrill Farm 

In this workshop led by the Concord Pollinator Health Committee, we will learn how to sow seeds into milk jugs for easy, over-wintering germination of native pollinator-supporting plants. Sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library.

“Enemies to Their Country?” Concord Town Meeting January 10, 1774 

Wednesday, January 10 at 6 p.m. at the Main Library 

On January 10, 1774, Concord Town Meeting attendees considered writing a response to a letter from the Boston Committee of Correspondence that warned about the evils of the new Tea Act and the need to resist “in a most zealous and determined manner….” Join Minute Man NPS Rangers as they unpack this significant moment on the evening of the event 250 years ago. 

Opting for Growth Embracing Stress and Emotion: Let’s Get Uncomfortable with Karin Hodges 

Thursday, January 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Main Library 

With the current mental health crisis affecting the younger generation, it’s more critical than ever to concentrate on environments promoting growth. Dr. Hodges will share her insights on how to foster such an environment as a caregiver or educator for children and teens.

Sensory Storytime (Ages 0-5) 

Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. at the Main Library 

Sensory Storytime will create a supportive experience for neurodiverse children and their caregivers who benefit from a calmer, sensory-focused storytime to meet the needs of children on the autism spectrum, those with sensory processing challenges, and/or who would benefit from a smaller storytime. 

Dance Workshop: An Introduction to Bharatanaytam (Ages 3-7) 

Saturday, January 13 at 11 a.m. at Fowler 

Explore the imaginative world of dance through this workshop in the Bharatanatyam repertoire, a South Indian classical dance form. Participants will be introduced to basic steps, rhythm, expressions, and storytelling.

Thursday, January 11 at 4 p.m. at the Main Library 

Join this club and celebrate Japanese media and pop culture! Discuss your favorite manga and anime titles, share art, learn about local conventions and events, and eat delicious Japanese goodies! Sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library. 

Batik (Ages 7-14) 

Saturday, January 13 at 2 pm. at Fowler 

Learn batik from artists from the newly former Fine Art Studio in West Concord. Sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library. 

Random Insanity Game Show 

Thursday, January 18 at 4 p..m. at the Main Library 

Be a contestant in our mad mash-up of game shows and do your best to navigate the chaos of ridiculous rules to win fabulous prizes! Sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library.
