George Andrew Davidson III, of Gainesville, VA., formerly of Concord, MA., died on January 11, 2024, following a brief illness. He was 56.
George is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Allison (MacDougall) Davidson; his sons, George Andrew Davidson IV and Gregory Stephen Davidson; his parents, George and Vicki (Dee) Davidson of Concord, MA; his sister, Elaine Davidson of Concord, MA; and his brother, Brian Davidson and his wife, Alice (Kang) Davidson of Concord, MA.
George was a devoted husband and father who cherished and adored his wife and sons. His sons gave him great joy and he loved sharing what was going on in his boys’ lives. He was a very proud father.
George will always be remembered for his friendly personality, sense of humor, and kindness. He enjoyed being with people and treasured the friendships he made throughout his life. He had a love for traveling and was a self-taught cook; he had fun searching out new recipes to make for family and friends.
A place which held a special spot in George’s heart was Port Clyde, Maine, where his extended family would gather for summer vacations. He loved boating and being on the water, sitting at Marshall Point Lighthouse enjoying the surrounding beauty, picnicking with his family atop of Mt. Battie, taking his wife and sons to play in the Annual Davidson Putt-Putt Tournament, and family cookouts and lobster bakes. He loved recalling the many memories made in Port Clyde and making his family laugh with stories from the past.
Family and friends will celebrate George’s life during visiting hours at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from Dee Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center.
