The Concord-Carlisle girls’ ice hockey team scored early and often in the first period of its Senior Night game on January 31, resulting in an 8-2 win over Cambridge Rindge and Latin.
The Patriots scored four goals in the first 4:44 of the game.
Addy Healy struck first for CC, scoring 50 seconds into the game on assists by Maddy Humber and Brynn Chaffee. She was followed on the scoresheet by Pip Clinard, who scored her first high school goal, Humber, and Kendall Johnson, who also scored her first high school goal.
“Senior Night brough the energy, and we came out flying,” said Head Coach Steph Jahnle.
In the second period, CC added four more goals: Humber had two for the hat trick. Julia Lambert and Nicole Atkins added the other two.
Elizabeth Cook and Atkins each had three assists. Sydney Noordzij had two assists, as did Sarah Alter, who earned Worker of the Game. Abby Athanasoulas and Healy each had two assists.
“Sarah skated hard every shift and broke up many plays,” said Jahnle.
Before the game, seniors Mia Lombardi, Toryn Jackson, Lambert and Noordzij received honors for their contributions to the program. Also recognized: senior manager Annabel Charles.
“Every player got in the game tonight,” Jahnle said. “We have grown a lot as a team this season. They play together and support each other.”
