Forty-four years ago after driving a car pool of our son and his ten-year-old friends, my late father commented he had never met a more polite child than Cameron. Select Board candidate Cameron McKennitt was that child and I believe Cameron’s innate politeness will help us reach consensus on the myriad important issues facing Concord.
Since our Select Board represents us all, members should understand our various needs and priorities. Cameron certainly ticks all the boxes. He has experienced Concord as a child, CCHS student, athlete, coach and parent of four children who attended Concord schools. Furthermore, he has a unique understanding of the needs of seniors since his parents still live in the house Cameron grew up in Thoreau Hills. Most important he cares deeply for Concord.
Cameron’s understanding isn’t just limited to Concord. He has had a dynamic career as a strategy consultant and business leader across multiple industries. His professional experience dovetails perfectly with the planning and decision making capabilities necessary for a Select Board member. Concord faces numerous complex financial and development issues. Cameron has the knowledge and experience to work with others to make the correct decisions.
Recently Cameron and I had a wide-ranging discussion and I was impressed by his knowledge of the issues and his approach. He emphasized the importance of process and open lines of communication which lead to good compromises. He went on to say transparency which generates trust is always essential.
I am confident Cameron will do what’s right and represent all our needs. In doing so he will make our town succeed. I urge everyone to vote for Cameron McKennitt on April 9.
