When Concord-Carlisle High School students picked up the phone in search of donations to The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle earlier this month, the community answered the call — to the tune of $30,000.
“Our students work so hard to help people to understand the mission of The Scholarship Fund, which is focused solely on helping students with unmet need achieve their post-secondary school goals,” said CCHS teacher and Phonathon Chair Priscilla Guiney.
“Every year, our kids rise to the occasion, and so do the townspeople of Concord and Carlisle.”
During this month’s Phonathon, which had 53 CCHS volunteers dialing for pledges, more than 430 community members supported the fund.
Any student in financial need who has lived in or attended school in Concord or Carlisle is eligible for a scholarship.
Recipients are matched with awards according to their needs and interests, and there are named funds dedicated to student-athletes, musicians, and those pursuing specific fields of study.
Graduating high school seniors and students already in college can apply to The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle by visiting www.thescholarshipfundofcc.org.
Those seeking grants from the Scholarship Fund must first file a FAFSA application.
The deadline to apply for scholarships for the 2024-25 school year is April 1 for in-college students. For high school seniors, it’s May 1.
