I met Wendy 20 years ago when I joined the staff of the Concord Children’s Center as the executive director. At that time Wendy had two young children and a very active career. Wendy was serving on the Board of Directors at the Center, was a member of the Executive Committee, and later became the treasurer for our school. As the new executive Wendy was instrumental in guiding me through the accounting and finances of the organization. Wendy volunteered wholeheartedly for the school’s auction and was a very engaged parent. Her guidance was always clear and supportive. Most importantly Wendy understood the role of the mission, values, and goals of the school as critical components of long-term strategic planning and financial sustainability.
I have continued to be impressed with Wendy’s commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the town of Concord as a member of the Finance Committee, Light Board, Solar Implementation Task Force, and the Financial Audit Advisory Committee. Wendy will bring the skills of a proven business leader in healthcare and a deep understanding of the workings of our town to the Select Board. In addition, she brings her experience as a long-term resident, and a passionate commitment to the ongoing health of Concord.
Wendy is truly in my view the ideal candidate for Select Board.
