Norine Marie (O’Neil) Christian, 92, of Nashua, New Hampshire, formerly of Concord, died at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire, on June 9, 2024. She was the devoted wife of the late Norman A. “Nubby” Christian, who died in 2008.
She was born in Great Barrington on October 16, 1931, as the daughter of the late Henry and Evelyn (Ruble) O’Neil. She attended school in St. Johnsbury, Vermont; LaGrange, Illinois; and Concord. For the majority of her professional life, Norine worked in administration for the Town of Acton’s Building Department. She retired in 1992.
Family was at the center of Norine’s life. Always supportive of her children, she served as a Den Mother for West Concord Cub Scout Pack 134 and the stand-in coach of her son’s Little League teams, when Nubby was on duty with the Concord Fire Department. Following the passing of her beloved husband, she was humbled by the recognition of being made an honorary member of the USS Williams C. Lawe DD763 Association.
She leaves behind her children, Michael Christian and his wife Debra of Peoria, Arizona; Patricia Christian of Haverhill; Cathryn O’Dell and her husband Patrick of Chillicothe, Missouri; Toni Anne Weresch and her husband Michael of Westbrook, Illinois; and Daniel Crawford and his wife Carolyn Ray of Butler, Ohio. Norine is also survived by five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, John and Robert Crawford.
Norine will be laid to rest on June 14 at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to Norine and Nubby’s wonderful neighbors in Nashua, who always watched over them during their final years.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Concord Firefighters Relief Association, P.O. Box 4, Concord, MA 01742.
