As April 2025 approaches and we prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the historic events in Concord, it’s disheartening to acknowledge the glaring absence of reliable cellular service in the heart of our town and its surrounding area.
The significance of Concord in American history cannot be overstated. Yet, as we anticipate the influx of visitors for the upcoming celebration, it’s alarming that our community still lacks adequate cellular coverage. This isn’t just an inconvenience; it poses a significant safety risk to residents, visitors, and those passing through our town on a daily basis.
The absence of reliable cellular service not only hampers communication but also impedes emergency response efforts. In the event of an emergency during the 250th celebration, the inability to swiftly communicate could have dire consequences. Moreover, it detracts from the overall experience for both residents and visitors who rely on their mobile devices for navigation, communication, and sharing memories of this historic occasion.
It’s imperative that action be taken swiftly to address this issue. Concord deserves modern infrastructure that meets the needs of its residents and visitors, especially during such a momentous occasion in our town history. Therefore, I urge town officials and telecommunications providers to prioritize the installation of a new cell tower in Concord before the commemoration in April 2025.
Together, let’s ensure that Concord remains a place where history and progress intersect, and where residents and visitors alike can connect seamlessly both with each other and with the world.
