Catching up on the season’s youth sports action, the Concord-Carlisle Youth Soccer sixth-grade girls C-C Voltage team finished first in their division, 5-1-4, this season.
“It was such a good group of girls,” Manager Anson James said of the team, which is part of statewide travel league Boston Area Youth Soccer.
The girls beat Parkway United Blue from West Roxbury 3-1 on June 11, but fell 0-1 to number-one seed Wayland Avalanche on June 13.
“It came down to the final seconds, and it was a heartbreaker,” Head Coach Brad Kelly said. “The girls played great and left everything out on the field. The parents and coaches couldn’t be more proud.”
Meanwhile, the second-graders of the Kestrels, the Concord-Carlisle Youth Soccer boys team, completed an undefeated season.
And the Concord-Carlisle Youth Lacrosse sixth-grade boys team handily defeated Marshfield 12-4 in the Town Pride League Finals for their second championship in a row.
