Henry Emerson Bamford, age 26, a lifelong resident of Concord, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
He was born in Concord on December 10, 1997, and was the son of Mark Emerson Bamford and Dolores Snyder Bamford of Concord.
He graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School and attended New York University and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where he studied fine arts.
He was a gifted artist. He was very creative and constantly making art. He used art as a way to engage with the world and to express himself. To Henry, everything was an art project.
He loved nature and exploring the outdoors. He loved to discover the wonder of the woods and found peace and serenity in nature. He loved exploring the Emerson-Thoreau Amble, Fairyland, October Farm, Hanscom Woods, and Mount Desert Island. He loved plants and tending the garden with his family.
Henry was a gentle, kind, sensitive, and caring person. He was a great listener and had great empathy for others. He was patient, compassionate, and thoughtful. He had a brilliant mind and was eager to learn new things. He was always curious about how things worked.
In addition to his loving parents, Henry leaves his brother, Austin Snyder Bamford, and his wife Kate Ross. He is also survived by his grandmother, Elizabeth Snyder, and his aunts, Cheryl Snyder, Marilyn Denman, Darlene Snyder and their families.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Ernest W. Snyder, Frederick E. Bamford and Elaine N. Bamford.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Road, Chelmsford. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Concord Land Conservation Trust at www.concordland.org.
