Mail ballots are out for those who requested them for the September 3 state primary. But Town Clerk Kaari Mai Tari is urging students who are heading back to school to double check that those ballots can actually reach them.
“If you applied for all elections this year in March, please make sure to forward any address changes to the Town Clerk’s Office to be sure you receive your ballot in a timely manner,” Tari said.
“We are getting some ballots returned from university mail addresses because students are either away for the summer or have moved.”
To apply to vote by mail, visit the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s website at sec.state.ma.us, where you can also track your ballot.
The voter registration deadline for the September 3 primary is August 24 at 5 p.m. The vote-by-mail application deadline is August 26 at 5 p.m., and the in-person absentee voting deadline is August 30 at 5 p.m.
