I read with interest the letter you published from the reader that suggested making MCI-Concord look better on the outside. Now that it is vacant, it makes sense to: First, acknowledge the State and town are unlikely to do anything quickly in terms of demolition or rehabbing it, and second, why not at least let the outside be accessible? As it sits right next to the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail, it makes sense to allow people access. Right now, it is surrounded by “No Trespassing” signs and it is clear no one is allowed on the premises.
As a documentary photographer, I would like to access its exterior and interior. I believe it should be preserved in photographs, and soon. So far, no one is allowed access.
