Twelve percent of Concord Democratic primary voters did not cast a vote for Governor’s Councillor in 2022. They would have, had they known what was at stake.
The Governor’s Council plays a critical role in approving judicial and other appointments, in serving as a check and balance on the governor’s office, in voting on pardons and commutations, and in providing financial oversight. A good Councillor helps ensure better representation and greater diversity in the judiciary. Without good representation, the Councillor rubber stamps the governor’s nominations, does not provide transparency in decision making, and fails to fulfill the Council’s potential.
Mara Dolan, a public defender who knows judges, will give us good representation. Please vote in the September 3 Democratic primary and please vote for Mara Dolan as Governor’s Councillor.
