Kudos to the town on the single-stream recycling and the new trucks. The only flaw is the old system was much more consumption based. Since private composting began, we have been able to reduce our trash to one barrel every other week, thus saving both the town and us some time and money. With the new system, we are paying even if we have no trash that week. This may cause some to stop composting or be less thoughtful as to what goes into the trash. I know it is complicated and wish there was a way to incent those who have minimal trash.
