Bill Joyce, Concord’s former treasurer and tax collector, and his wife, Kristina, an artist and teacher, took a cruise of the Great Lakes to celebrate their 80th birthdays — and they took The Concord Bridge along for the voyage.
Kristina writes that this photo with the couple’s “beloved newspaper” was snapped “after touring Lake Superior, Michigan, and heading to Huron from Georgian Bay — often referred to as the sixth lake to the traditional five.
“The trip continued with Lakes Erie and Ontario and stops through eight gigantic locks to arrive at Niagara. The final leg of the cruise was Toronto, Canada, and a return to [our] Concord home, safe, sound, and happy.”
