William T. “Bill” Hutchinson, age 86, of Concord, died peacefully with family by his side on October 25, 2024, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the devoted and loving husband for 67 years of Rose (Michaels) Hutchinson.
Born in Concord on March 18, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Erisman) Hutchinson. He graduated in 1956 from Concord High School, where he was a member of the varsity football team. Bill then served the country for four years as a damage controlman petty officer in the Coast Guard.
Bill retired after 35 years of town service as the facilities manager for the Concord Public Schools. His greatest joys were his family and the pride he took from his work. A lifelong Concordian, he enjoyed fishing and traveling in his spare time.
In addition to his wife, Rose, he will be forever missed by their seven children: Bonnie Hardy and her husband Edward of Concord; James Hutchinson and his wife Cory of Hudson; Susan Hutchinson and her wife Robin of Concord, New Hampshire; Mary Hutchinson of Concord; Carol Hutchinson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jean Roberts and her husband Tom of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; and William Hutchinson and his wife Mardi of Concord. Bill was the proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Paul Hutchinson and his wife Doris of Adams; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hutchinson of Concord; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin brother, John “Jack” Hutchinson.
