Despite a locker-related hiccup, Concord’s closely watched new middle school is still on track to be ready for students in February, officials say.
“It’s feeling really great in there right now,” said Superintendent Laurie Hunter.
Project architect Jennifer Soucy said the building phase of the project was 80 percent complete as of November 1. Walking through the site a week later, building committee members saw crews spray-painting inside the gym and installing paneling in the auditorium.
Crews poured concrete at the school loading dock and had already placed decorative tile in several areas.
Though they will soon finish the Ellen Garrison Building at Concord Middle School, crews will have more work ahead as they demolish the old Sanborn School next to the property and prepare the new CMS athletic fields.
