I am excited to announce my intention to run for one of the two open seats on the Select Board in the upcoming town election on April 8, 2025.
I have been a Concord resident since 1976 when my wife, Ellen, and I moved to West Concord. Concord proved to be the perfect place to raise our family. Our three children, Jesse, Adrienne (Boardman), and Meredith (Palusci), all attended the town’s public schools. My daughters returned to Concord as adults and raised their families. Four of my grandchildren now attend Thoreau Elementary School; one more will next year. Having multi-generations of our family in town will continue to have an impact on my balanced perspective on the challenges and opportunities that face Concord.
Over my long career as an environmental scientist and adviser, I developed the expertise for solving complex problems using teamwork and a collaborative, data-driven, transparent approach. I have long believed that community service is a key part of what makes our community special and is personally rewarding.
Over the last 15 years I have served and applied experience and energy to (in some cases leading) multiple committees and task forces including: the Recreation Commission, Community Preservation Committee, the NMI-Starmet Re-use Planning Commission, Warner’s Pond Task Force, and the 2229 Main Street Advisory Task Force. Through this committee work I have developed a deep understanding of town governance and the need for new, creative ideas, open-mindedness, and transparency. I have built meaningful relationships with town staff and the many citizens who volunteer their time to serve Concord.
I am committed to honoring our history and helping build the future. I look forward to sharing more about myself, continuing to engage with members of the community in the coming months. I hope to earn your support.
