The Concord Town Clerk’s office offers the following guidance for those casting ballots by mail.
- Voters must return their ballot in the provided yellow envelope, which they must sign.
- Voters should make sure they are returning the correct ballot and envelope, and not one from a previous election.
- On the ballot itself, if a voter fills in an oval for a candidate and also writes the candidate’s name on the write-in line, that is considered an overvote. You can’t vote for someone more than once.
- If a voter writes in a name but fails to fill in the write-in oval, the vote will still count for that candidate.
- If the ballot is mailed to the Town Clerk’s Office and an error is found, the office will follow up with the voter.
- The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29.
- The deadline to return a ballot to the drop box outside the Town House or in person to the office is 8 p.m., November 5.
- Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by November 5 and received at the clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on November 15.
