Concord physicist and bestselling author Alan Lightman is the host of a 3-part miniseries “SEARCHING: Our Quest for Meaning in the Age of Science.”
The series, based on some of his books, “investigates how key findings of modern science help us find our bearings in the cosmos,” the show’s description reads. “What do these new discoveries tell us about ourselves, and how do we find meaning in them?”
The series, which premiered on PBS earlier this year, has only recently become available on WGBH, Boston’s PBS station. The show can be seen on Sundays at 6 p.m. on online at https://www.pbs.org/show/searching-our-quest-meaning-age-science/
“In the series, I have conversations with Nobel Prize winning scientists, philosophers, ethicists, faith leaders, including the Dalai Lama, and an advanced android,” said Lightman, who serves on the board of directors of the Concord Independent Foundation, owner of The Concord Bridge.
