The Concord Bridge has returned to Antarctica — and this time, someone remembered to take a picture!
The flag… err, paper… has been planted by John Lombard, retired senior pastor at TriCon Church, Concord Center, and Janet Lombard, retired World Language teacher at the Bromfield School in Harvard. The couple took an epic journey to the bottom of the world, pausing at Easter Island before posing on the bow of the Viking Expedition ship Octantis on Astrolabe Bay, Antarctica.
Last year, the furthermost south crown was captured by former Select Board member Stan Black with an asterisk — he claimed the thrill of seeing penguins in their natural habitat distracted him from the all-important photo with The Concord Bridge.
