6:09 p.m. A Prescott Road resident reported a gray Audi stopped in front of her home, and a man jumped out and started walking up her driveway. When the homeowner asked the man what he was doing, he said he was looking for an AirTag and “demanded” she open her vehicle, which she refused to do. The man then got back into the car, which another man was driving, and they took off toward Minuteman Drive. Police spoke with the men and determined the interaction was a misunderstanding.

A responding officer said the dogs appeared healthy, but he could not reach the owner. Police followed up with the property manager, who said the tenant was on vacation and had asked a dog walker to stay at the home “to try and keep the noise from the dogs to a minimum.”

Saturday, September 7

1:35 a.m. A 47-year-old Leominster man who authorities say “nearly” collided with a police cruiser as an officer was conducting a motor vehicle stop on Route 2 is facing drunken-driving charges. Police said the man’s swerving car passed the stationary cruiser on Route 2, just west of the rotary. Officers arrested the Leominster man, who was charged with operating under the influence, obstructing a stationary emergency vehicle, and marked lane violations. A truck towed the man’s car.
