The Concord-Carlisle High School Nordic Ski teams claimed their third win in a row at the Weston Ski Track on Jan. 17.
Pacing the Girls race for CC over a 5km course was junior Sarah Kirincich, who finished second (14:59) in a photo finish with league rival Emily Appleby of Lincoln-Sudbury. She was followed by: Abby Kirinchich in 4th (16:23), Katie Pohlig in 8th (16:49), Molly Branigan in 12th (18:09 ), and Azalea Feather in 14th (19:03).
In team scoring, CC won with 465 points to runners up Acton-Boxborough (450 pts) and Wayland (411 pts).
In the Boys race, CC placed their scoring five among the top 10 finishers to win with 477 points to runners up Wayland (447 pts) and AB (441 pts). Junior Xander Scopinich-Burgel won his third consecutive league race in a time of 13:02. He was followed by Jonah Carter in 5th (14:21), Isah Nichol in 6th (14:37), Adam Synnestvedt in 7th (14:49) and Harry Holden in 9th (15:16).
The team returned Monday night from a three day training weekend in Jackson NH where they enjoyed the best ski conditions of the season given the recent storm.
Spirits are high as they enter the second half of their season. A portion of the team are entered in the Massachusetts Qualifier event this Sunday in Dalton, Mass. which will result in the selection of a Massachusetts team to compete in the Eastern High School championships in March.
